Success for Leeds Rowing Club at Marlow Regatta

After the success of qualifying at Henley Women’s Regatta, it was the turn of our athletes aiming for Henley Royal Regatta to return to Dorney Lake and race at Marlow Regatta.

In what was the most competitive entry for events to date this season (over 80 entries into the Championship 8+ event) this was a last chance opportunity for some to aim to pre-qualify for Henley Royal Regatta.

We had some impressive performances at Marlow Regatta in the following events:

Championship 1x - 6th in A Final for Cory and 1st in B Final for Dan

Championship 2x - 3rd in A Final for Dan with Ash from Newark RC

Championship 8+ - 1st in H Final (and winners of Tier 3 Club 8+ category)

This had been a challenging week for the men’s eight, with a significant injury in the crew causing a major change to the boat make up so to come away with the Tier 3 win was a great boost.

A huge well done to the University of Leeds Boat Club for winning the B Final in University/College Coxed Fours and their support on the day as well as all of our club members for their support. Thanks to the University of York for towing.
