Georgie Brayshaw - Olympic Champion

In what can only be described as an exhilarating race, Leeds Rowing Club member Georgie Brayshaw became Olympic Champion in the Women’s Quadruple Sculls at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Not only was this race an absolute nailbiter at the line, it was a historic win for GB Rowing, being the first time Great Britain has won this event.

Georgie was one of the first members of the Yorkshire World Class Start programme based at Leeds and trained and competed for the club at our Stourton Boathouse while developing as an athlete until moving to Leander Club, prior to joining the National Squad at Caversham.

During her time at Leeds, Georgie made the final of Senior Double Sculls at Henley Women’s Regatta as well as competing and winning at heads and regattas and trialling for Great Britain.

The club is incredibly proud of Georgie’s journey and how she has achieved that ambition she first said to her original coach Matt Paul about being an Olympic Champion. A huge well done to Georgie, and to the quad of Lauren, Hannah and Lola.
