First wins of 2024 at Tyne Head

The first race of 2024 proved to be an excellent day out for the club as we headed back up to Newcastle for the Tyne Head.

The junior boys added to their wins haul and took another eights win in Band 3 8+ and were a fraction off beating the Band 2 8+ winner as well. The junior girls had an exceptional day out with wins across all age categories including a win for the J16 girls rowing up into the J18 category.

The seniors had a great day out with a strong 2nd place in the Open 4+ category, beaten only by Durham University Boat Club.

A special well done goes to our J14’s on their first ever race. The J14 boys had a great row down the course (sadly their opposition scratched) and the J14 girls picked up 1st and 2nd place in the coxed quads.

A huge thanks to the parents, coaches and supporters and to Tyne Rowing Club for their excellent hospitality.
