Take charge by joining as a Coxwain

It’s not just steering a boat!

Why Cox with Leeds Rowing Club?

Coxing is a great way to develop confidence and gain coaching skills. You’ll have a pivotal role in developing crews, helping them to succeed at training and in competitions. You’ll be responsible for motivation and directing your crew, and over time you’ll learn to coach them too.

We offer short courses

We are always looking for new members who are interesting in coxing, and it’s a great way to become an important member of the club. You don’t need any prior experience of rowing or coxing. We run a short course for new coxswains, and to get you started supervision will be provided. Contact us if you’ve like to hear more information about this short course.

Still have Questions?

We welcome rowers of any ability. For complete beginners, we run several Learn to Row courses during the year. For experienced rowers, we have a network of expanding squads. If you’d like to know more, please contact us on rowing@leedsrowing.org.uk or get in touch for more information.
