Schools Head of the River Race

Our junior rowers from the Leeds Junior Rowing Academy put in some solid performances down on the Thames today at the Schools Head of the River Race.

This was our first ever attendance at the event, with five crews ranging from our J15 to J18 athletes. The competition was fierce and didn’t disappoint, giving us a first real opportunity to see how we stand this season on the national stage against all of the top schools and clubs in the sport.

Good performances throughout all ages, and a great experience for everyone - especially our many of the juniors who had never raced on the Tideway before.

A huge well done to the athletes, and a special thanks to the parents, supporters and junior coaches who made today happen.

Thanks to Thames RC for hosting us for all of the Tideway heads we’ve entered this year. Greatly appreciated by all.

Finally as always we are grateful to Cross Keys Garage, Morley for supporting the juniors with the free use of one of their Isuzu DMax 4x4’s for towing the trailer.

Results as follows:

  • Championship 8+ 20th

  • Championship 4x 17th

  • Girls Championship 4x 17th

  • Championship J15 8+ 8th

  • Girls Championship J15 8+ 7th
