Early Season Regatta Success for Leeds

Regatta season has begun and our senior and junior athletes are already bringing home the wins for Leeds Rowing Club!

York Spring Regatta saw six wins, lots of finals and the first regatta races for our junior rowing academy athletes. The regatta ended with the following results -

Wins in Mixed 2x, Women’s 2x, Women’s 4+, Women’s 4x+, Open 2- and Open 2x plus finals for Open 4x, WJ14 2x, WJ15 2x and Women’s 1x

Tees Regatta saw us only send one crew, a composite coxed four with Yarm School, but the Moxon boys won the Band 2 Open 4+ event beating all of the senior opposition!

Nottingham City Regatta was the first major regatta of the season over 2000m and it didn’t disappoint with a great performance from our senior squads -

Wins in Open Band 1 1x (Dan), Open 1x (Cory), Women’s Band 1 4+, Women’s Band 2 2x, Open Band 2 2-, Open Band 3 8+ plus second for Open 2x (with Newark), 3rd for Women’s 4+ and 4th for Open 4-

Nottingham Club and Masters Regatta saw Dan Jones teaming up with Newark Rowing Club in composite crews and winning Open Band 1 2-, Open 2x, Open 4+, Open 4x and Open 8+

And that’s not all…

Still sticking to her Leeds roots, Katie Mole was in action at Wallingford Regatta where she won the Women’s Quadruple Challenge Sculls event as part of Leander Club and then won at Ghent International Regatta in the Women’s 4x and Women’s 2x events with Leander Club (in her Leeds kit!).
