Leeds retain the VL at Peterborough Summer

What a weekend we had at Peterborough Summer Regatta!

  • 72 crews entered

  • 52 finals achieved

  • 13 Wins

  • 9 Second place finishes

  • 18 Third place finishes

And one Victor Ludorum for the most wins over the weekend retained! We had two packed trailers, one packed van and practically most of the racing club with us at Peterborough for our final regatta of the season. The racing was spectacular with some incredibly close finals including the Mixed and Women’s eights being won by Leeds right on the line!

As always, we raced hard, partied hard and had an awesome weekend.

On top of that, our epic raffle fundraiser was drawn and raised over £7000 for the club - a massive thanks to the Brook family for organising!

It was great to see so many club members racing and coming together to cheer each other on, to catch up with old LRC members who were at the regatta, and to say farewell to some of our J18 Junior Academy members as they head off for pastures new.

A special thanks as always to Cross Keys Garage Morley for their continued support with the free use of an Isuzu 4x4 for towing. The garage has been a great supporter of the club and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them.

Finally a special thanks to all of the coaches who have worked behind the scenes to put everything together for this regatta - a job well done.
