Junior success at the Junior Head North

Our first race of 2026 brought home the medals as the Junior Academy had a very successful day at the Junior Head North over in Runcorn.

With 14 crews spread across J14 to J18 racing on the day against top class schools and clubs, this was a first opportunity to test performances after the Christmas break.

With four wins, five 2nd places and a further two 3rd places, this was an excellent start to the new year with wins across the sculling and sweep programmes and across all age ranges.

A huge well done to all of the athletes who raced, thanks as always to the parents for making the journey across the Pennines, and to Runcorn Rowing Club and the North West Regional Rowing Council for hosting another great event.

Special thanks go to Cymba Racing for the use of one of their SL Racing quads, and to Cross Keys Garage Morley for their continued support into 2026 with the free use of an Izuzu DMax towing truck.
