Leeds Rowing Club Juniors at The Scullery

In a club first, we took our first ever crews to the National Junior Sculling Head, otherwise known as The Scullery, down at Dorney Lake.

The Scullery is the main end of head season junior sculling event with thousands of juniors competing in quads and octouples.

Leeds Rowing Club entered two crews - a WJ16 4x of Liv, Ruby, Jess and Neive, and a WJ14 8x+ of Oli (cox), Ava, Grace, Anna, Freya, Josephine, Kaia, Poppy and Clay.

Both crews raced brilliantly in some breezy conditions, with the WJ16 4x coming 22nd out of 54 crews and the WJ14 8x+ coming 7th out of 32 crews.

A huge experience for both crews, racing against the top girls J16 quads and the top girls J14 octos in the country. This laid down a great marker for regatta season with lots learned and lots to build on.

Sadly ground conditions at Dorney meant it was athletes and coaches only and no spectators, but thanks to the parents for their huge enthusiasm for this event and to the coaches for their hard work coaching these crews.
